"Papers" Art opening and lecture by Hermes Entenza, (Cuba)

An evening to celebrate art and music at the ARTery. and talk by Cuban artist Hermes Entenza, discussing Cuban culture and identity through artistic traditions.

Hermes Entenza will be showing a series of works called "PAPERS" - mixed media on handmade paper.

Hermes Entenza is a painter, art restorator, poet, philosopher and instructor from Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. He has created and shown work in Germany, Spain, Italy, Cuba and the United States.

Hermes uses many mediums, and is well known for his with work with handmade paper. He is in Edmonton to to show a series of paintings called "PAPERS", and deliver a lecture on the history of Cuban culture, and the artistic tradition of his city, Sancti Spiritus, the fourth city founded in the Americas.

Hermes is also working with Alberta artist Jim Laing on a collaborative series to be unveiled at the artery.
